My absolute FAVORITE local grocery store!! The produce outside have unbeatable deals and rotate at least weekly, so it's always a fun surprise to see what's on sale next. They take credit (min amount $1) which is rare for a lot of small shops

These folks have the cheapest produce and the lines to boot. Get your meat by standing in a cramped line, ordering in hopefully spanish, and getting a number for the cashier (who only speaks English with me haha). Once my "Molina de Res" had crunchy bits but for the price I'm not complaining, cartilage is good for you. $1 berries. Sometimes "organic" mexican grown options. Everything cheap is from Mexico. Chips and such are $4 as usual.

This place is great where else can you go and get $.99 cantaloupes on sale and 2 pounds of Mandarin's for a dollar? They always have something on sale at super super low prices and the quality is pretty consistently good way better than Whole Foods or Safeway that's for sure just watch out for the sketchy people at the Bart on 16th and mission just walk fast and have your pepper spray on hand!

Kind of silly to rate a supermarket but love this place and their deals on fruit and veggies, e.g. organic blackberries 2 boxes for $1, $1 for 2 avocados, 99 cents mini bell peppers. Right across from 16th Street Mission BART station. Usually a line after work hours, no line in morning. Credit card accepted.

Such a great produce store. They have the best tomatoes in SF. Reasonable priced. We get our groceries from here regularly. They carry plenty of herbs and all vegetables.

You will not find better prices for fruit & veggies anywhere in SF. They have everything; very large selection of produce & they are uber inexpensive. Dates are $1.99 per pound. 4lbs of bananas for $1. 3 sticks of celery for $1. 32oz of blueberries for $1. CC accepted.

I tend to get my main groceries from the supermarkets, so this is just a review on the produce, which itself deserves 4 stars. Two giant, ripe Mexican mangoes for a dollar; 5 avocados for a dollar; a lb of strawberries for a dollar; onions, 79c a lb. Great prices, all the fruit is perfectly ripe, and I didn't see any rotting specimens--and I was in there for quite a bit--I just wish they had more selection in terms of Central American fruits, but aside from that, I can't complain at the prices.

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews. Produce selection is huge and crazy inexpensive (5 avocados for $1, a head of lettuce for $1, squash for $0.69/lb etc ..). Some of the more niche salsas were actually cheaper than what you would pay at Safeway, but in general it seemed like standard grocery store products (ie Progresso soup) leaned towards being more expensive. There's a good sized meat counter where boneless chicken breast is $1.99/lb. The staff are all super polite and helpful. I think between Mi Tierra and Casa Thai (which is kitty corner), like 80-90% of produce and staple foods should be covered by non big-chain grocers.

(See pics) Being healthy does not need to be expensive. Come shop at Mi Tierra. The vegetables such as lettuce, all kinds of peppers, herbs, tomatoes, all sorts of South American veggies and even some Asian ones. All are fresh, in abundance, plumy looking and are very very cheap!! They also carry some meat items and were actually quite good as well. Love how friendly and fun these folks are when I asked what to do with 2 pounds of strawberries (2 bucks = 2 boxes = 2 pounds), they gave me a few excellent ideas such as smoothies and desserts. And sometimes they will have sales like a dollar for 4 pounds or a full box of bananas! There are also all types of apples, oranges, plantains, very sweet mangoes, pineapples, mandarin oranges, pomegranates (whole or just seeds from POM POMS), watermelon (99 cents for a smaller one), honeydew. And amazingly they also carry green coconut in whole for only 99 cents! Service was very fast and nice.
